To study anti-inflammatory activity of methanolic extract (ME) of Zanthoxylum armatum (ZA) fruit. The study was carried out using male wistar rats (180-230g). The ME was prepared using maceration process. The effect of ME of Zanthoxylum armatum (ZA) fruit was investigated for In vivo anti inflammatory activity was evaluated in wistar species of rats by using carrageenan induced rat paw edema method. The methanolic extract (ME) of Zanthoxylum armatum (ZA) fruit was used in pain and inflammation model. A Zanthoxylum armatum at doses (100mg/kg, 200mg/kg) showed significant (P< 0.05) inhibition of carrageenan induced hind paw edema in rats The methanolic extract (ME) of Zanthoxylum armatum (ZA) fruit showed significant anti-inflammatory activity in rat.
